The entire focus and attention of the artificial intelligence industry have turned to GPT-5. Although we still lack official details about this new major model from OpenAI, which was normally expected to be released in the summer, new leaks continue to surface.

According to new details emerging about the GPT-5 model, which has been claimed from the very beginning to change our perspective on artificial intelligence, this new model will indeed be equipped with capabilities that could radically change the way we interact. Furthermore, new rumors suggest that GPT-5 will be released before the end of August.

A Unified and Powerful Model is Coming

One of the most remarkable leaks is that GPT-5 will be a “unified” model. This means that the best features of the current different models will be brought together under one roof. In other words, the multimodality (image, sound understanding) capabilities of GPT-4o will be combined with the advanced reasoning abilities of models like o3 and o4-mini in GPT-5.

This will allow users to analyze an image, draft an email, or reason about a complex topic with a single prompt, without having to switch between different models for different tasks.

Larger Capacity and New Capabilities

The leaks also contain some information about GPT-5’s technical specifications. According to the talks, the model will have an input capacity of up to 1 million tokens and an output capacity of up to 100,000 tokens. This means it will be able to process much longer texts and complex documents.

Additionally, there are signs that Microsoft is testing GPT-5 in its Copilot software under the name “Smart Mode.” It is stated that this mode can activate more powerful reasoning models in the background when it understands that the user’s request requires “deeper thinking.”

Advanced Coding and Task Completion

GPT-5 is also expected to make a significant leap in areas such as software development, creating multi-step workflows, and coding. The goal is to make the model more reliable with fewer “hallucinations” (producing incorrect information) and better understanding capabilities.
