One of Germany’s most prestigious car shows, the IAA Mobility Show 2025, has undergone a major transformation in recent years. The event, which moved from Frankfurt to Munich in 2021, has since evolved to focus not only on classic cars but also on future technologies like robotics and artificial intelligence.

IAA Mobility has gone beyond traditional automotive shows to focus more on mobility and technology. This year, the exhibition space transformed from just a showcase for the latest car models into a platform offering a glimpse into the future of the automotive world.

In the Messe building in Munich, a record number of Chinese car brands were present alongside Western manufacturers. One of the most prominent of these brands was Xpeng, which had a massive stand. Amidst the huge stands of the Volkswagen Group, Xpeng’s new electric vehicles and forward-looking vision attracted significant interest. Xpeng is targeting a large market outside of China, and it expects that upcoming demonstration flights in Dubai will increase interest in the company’s flying car project.

1. Xpeng P7+

The Chinese company Xpeng continues to rapidly establish itself in the electric vehicle market. The European launch of the P7+ model took place in Munich. The P7+ stands out with a 92.2 kWh battery pack, 800V architecture, and 585 horsepower, as well as its fast-charging capability. Xpeng claims it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes. Additionally, the car’s AI-powered dynamics improve the driving experience. With this model, Xpeng aims to make a significant entry into the European market.

2. Polestar 5

Polestar attracted attention at IAA Mobility with its stylish design and powerful performance. The Polestar 5, with 871 horsepower, will compete fiercely with rivals like the Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds. Its minimalist interior design and large screens make the Polestar 5 a model where technology and luxury converge.

3. BMW iX3 Neu Classe

BMW introduced its Neu Classe electric vehicles in Munich. The iX3 offers a range of up to 800 km with a 108.7 kWh battery. It can also fast-charge to add 375 km of range in just 10 minutes. This model marks the first steps of BMW’s future electric vehicle lineup and showcases the brand’s new technologies.

Hyundai continues its innovation in electric vehicles. The Concept Three will be the first compact electric model in the brand’s Ioniq series. This model stands out by adopting Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design language. With its high-tech interior and futuristic exterior design, this concept marks Hyundai’s entry into the future of automotive design.

5. Mercedes-Benz GLC

This fully electric model can fast-charge thanks to its 800V architecture. The GLC EQ 400, with a 94 kWh battery, offers a 795 km range and stands out for its elegant interior and high performance. Mercedes aims to provide drivers with a luxurious experience through modern digital displays and a comprehensive infotainment system.

6. Cupra Tindaya

Cupra aims to offer a driver-focused car experience with its Tindaya concept. The Tindaya garnered attention for its futuristic design and performance-oriented approach, particularly its dynamic and aggressive stance. It could herald a new era in the automotive world by preserving the joy of manual driving against the trend of autonomous systems.

7. VW ID.Cross

Volkswagen demonstrated its direction for the electric SUV market with the ID.Cross concept. This model, with its compact and stylish design, provides significant clues about VW’s electric future. Volkswagen aims to reach a wide customer base with the production version of this concept at an affordable price of around 25,000 euros.
