YouTube has declared that videos not clearly marked as “deepfake” content, which is created using artificial intelligence, will be taken down. Furthermore, the platform will also eliminate music content that uses AI to artificially mimic artists’ voices.
Outlined in a recent blog post, YouTube intends to implement two distinct sets of content policies aimed specifically at AI-generated “deepfake” videos. This move is an integral part of the platform’s strategy to protect the interests of its music industry partners.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE VIDEOS WILL BE REMOVED IF DETECTED
As reported by The Verge, creators are now required to explicitly state if content is AI-generated at the time of uploading videos.
It is detailed that videos will be removed if they are inaccurately labeled or do not disclose their artificial intelligence production origin.

It has also been highlighted that YouTube is planning to invest in technologies to accurately identify content generated by artificial intelligence.
The platform will further enable users to request the removal of videos that impersonate an identifiable individual.
Moreover, it has been announced that music content which uses artificial intelligence to mimic the voices of artists will be removed from the platform.
