Yandex has unveiled its latest advancement in artificial intelligence technology with the launch of YandexGPT 2. This new version represents a significant improvement over its predecessor, YandexGPT, which was first introduced in May 2023.
YandexGPT 2 distinguishes itself with enhanced efficiency and superior quality of responses. A standout feature of this updated model is its capability to customize responses for different audiences. It demonstrates versatility in writing texts across various styles and tones, tailoring its explanations to match the audience’s level of understanding. For example, YandexGPT 2 is adept at simplifying complex subjects, such as integrals, making them understandable to a five-year-old.
Moreover, this sophisticated language model can process and analyze commands of up to 1,000 characters in length. It is capable of answering questions and organizing information effectively, marking a significant advance in functionality and user engagement.
New language model 67 percent more successful
Yandex has expressed strong confidence in the capabilities of its latest version, YandexGPT 2. The company undertook extensive testing, employing identical clients to evaluate the performance of YandexGPT 2 in comparison to its previous model.
The evaluation spanned multiple dimensions including artificial intelligence training, accuracy of results, coherence, grammar, and writing style. The findings indicated that YandexGPT 2 surpassed its predecessor in two-thirds of the testing scenarios.
Notable enhancements in YandexGPT 2 encompass improved text generation, summarization, analysis, idea creation, and the ability to adjust writing styles for specific individuals or audiences. The Yandex team has expanded the model’s number of parameters and further refined the training dataset.
Currently, YandexGPT 2 is available in Russia, where it has been integrated with Yandex’s smart assistant, Alice. As of now, there is no confirmed information about the availability of this AI language model to users outside of Russia.
