The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which previously appeared at the famous Nürburgring track in its prototype version, has now broken the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT’s record with its production version.
Xiaomi has announced that its high-performance electric car, the SU7 Ultra, has set a new record at the Nürburgring. The production version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra completed the German track, considered one of the world’s most challenging, in an astonishing 7:4.957.
This time surpasses the 7:7.55 record set by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT in 2023, making the SU7 Ultra the fastest production electric vehicle in Nürburgring history.
Record-Breaking Performance
Last October, the prototype version of the SU7 Ultra attracted significant attention with a lap time of 6:46.874, ending a seven-year European-American dominance in this category. This made the prototype the fastest four-door car at the Nürburgring.
The production version of the SU7 Ultra utilizes the same powertrain as its prototype. Xiaomi’s self-developed Super Motor V8s reaches an incredible maximum speed of 27,200 rpm. The vehicle boasts 1,548 horsepower and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds. Its top speed is announced as 350 km/h.
Prior to its Nürburgring success, the SU7 Ultra had already achieved impressive times on various race tracks in China. The starting price of the SU7 Ultra is approximately $74,000, making it 2.5 times more expensive than the standard SU7.
