The emergence of the virtual workplace, a concept brought forth by the Metaverse, is sparking enthusiasm in the business world. This new approach presents promising opportunities for enhanced creativity, collaboration, and productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a survey conducted by ExpressVPN, which involved 1,500 employers and 1,500 employees in the USA, a significant 77 percent of young people belonging to Generation Z anticipate working in virtual offices on Metaverse platforms within a relatively short timeframe of 5-6 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey also reveals that 70 percent of employees believe that working within the Metaverse will alleviate their work-related stress and boost their motivation and productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Erdem Erkul, Founder and Chairman of the Board at Cerebrum Tech, commented on this trend. He noted, \u201cOver 80 percent of employees prefer the hybrid or remote working model. This approach not only enables companies to save money, but it also contributes to the mental and physical well-being, job satisfaction, and creativity of employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particularly, the younger generation perceives the virtual business world as a means to simplify work life. Generation Z employees, being more tech-savvy, show even greater enthusiasm for hybrid models. With its sustainability benefits, this model is increasingly shaping the future of business life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One major concern employees have regarding virtual work environments is the fear of increased employer surveillance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a survey by ExpressVPN, 61 percent of respondents are apprehensive that employers might capture and store their snapshots and screenshots in the Metaverse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erkul highlighted that employee expectations have shifted, stating, \u201cIn the traditional work order, the distribution of tasks and everyone’s place in the hierarchy were clear-cut. Today, people are seeking work environments with less hierarchy and more individual autonomy. Gartner’s research indicates that 75 percent of remote workers now expect more flexibility in their working arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees are shifting their focus beyond just financial rewards. Aspects like personal satisfaction, private life, and family are taking precedence. Employers need to maintain high levels of employee psychology and motivation. Despite future changes, human beings will remain central to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizations must adopt a more human-centric approach, as employees tend to be more productive when they feel valued as ‘individuals’ rather than merely ‘supervised’ entities,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
