Jeep carries its off-road tradition into the future with the electric Recon<\/strong>. With high torque<\/strong>, advanced off-road features<\/strong>, and removable parts<\/strong>, the Recon takes the stage as the first true electric<\/a><\/em> adventure SUV<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeep has finally revealed the fully electric Recon model<\/strong>. First announced in 2022, the model will hit the production line<\/strong> in the first quarter of next year<\/strong> and will be available for sale in Europe<\/strong> towards the end of the same year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the new Jeep Recon offer?<\/strong> Described as the “electric soulmate of the Wrangler<\/strong>,” the model will hit the roads as the brand’s first off-road focused electric vehicle<\/strong>, following the Wagoneer S and Avenger. Producing a total of 650 horsepower<\/strong> and 840 Nm of torque<\/strong> via two electric motors<\/strong>, the vehicle stands as concrete proof of Jeep’s claim that “electrification<\/strong> takes nothing away from off-road capability; on the contrary, it takes it further,” thanks to instant torque<\/strong> and precise control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Recon positions itself close to the Wrangler in terms of design and geometry. It brings Jeep’s off-road capability together with electricity by offering a 34-degree approach angle<\/strong>, 34.5-degree departure angle<\/strong>, and 23.5-degree breakover angle<\/strong>. When combined with a double-wishbone front and independent rear suspension system and off-road tires<\/strong>, it reaches a ground clearance<\/strong> of 238 mm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the addition of a locking differential<\/strong> and Rock mode<\/strong>, the Selec-Terrain system<\/strong> ensures the Recon is not deprived of the existing Jeep range’s off-road capability. The 100 kWh battery<\/strong> is reinforced against impacts with steel underbody protection<\/strong> to suit this purpose. Jeep states that the Recon offers a driving range<\/strong> of up to 530 km<\/strong> according to WLTP<\/strong>. The STLA Large platform’s<\/strong> 400V infrastructure<\/strong> provides fast charging support<\/strong> up to 160 kW<\/strong>. The model also reinterprets Jeep’s legendary “open-air<\/strong>” identity in the electric age. In the model where all doors are removable<\/strong>, the front and rear glass can be folded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike the purebred Jeep character on the exterior, the cabin structure<\/strong> has become distinctly digitalized<\/strong>. A new 14.5-inch multimedia screen<\/strong> takes over many functions, including air conditioning, while a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel<\/strong> completes this structure. Durable, scratch-resistant surfaces<\/strong> are used on the floor and panels throughout the cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Jeep Recon<\/strong> will be available for sale first in the USA<\/strong> and then in Europe<\/strong> towards the end of 2026<\/strong>. The model’s starting price<\/strong> has been announced as $65,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
