The research team is working on <strong>wireless brain implants<\/strong> that can be <strong>injected<\/strong> into the body and <strong>self-navigate<\/strong> to the target area. The study is based on <strong>wireless electronic particles<\/strong>\u2014smaller even than a cell\u2014that can be administered into the <strong>bloodstream<\/strong>. These particles, called \u201c<strong>SWED<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Sub-cellular Wireless Electronic Devices<\/strong>), form a <strong>hybrid structure<\/strong> by merging with <strong>immune cells<\/strong> (specifically <strong>monocytes<\/strong>) after injection. This allows them to follow the \u201c<strong>natural cellular circulation<\/strong>\u201d and be transported to <strong>inflamed regions<\/strong> in the brain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/metaverseplanet.net\/blog\/brain-to-brain-communication\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"29502\">Brain<\/a><\/em> inflammation<\/strong> plays a critical role at the root of many <strong>neurological diseases<\/strong>, from <strong>Alzheimer\u2019s<\/strong> and <strong>MS (Multiple Sclerosis)<\/strong> to <strong>stroke<\/strong> and <strong>brain tumors<\/strong>. When the <strong>SWEDs<\/strong> reach the target area, they settle into the relevant tissues and provide <strong>micro-level electrical stimulation<\/strong>. These stimulations aim to restore function to signals that are normally untransmittable. If the technology is successful, it may become possible to intervene in brain regions\u2014currently only accessible through <strong>high-risk surgeries<\/strong>\u2014in a <strong>surgery-free<\/strong>, <strong>low-cost<\/strong>, and much safer manner.
