There is a trillion-dollar rivalry between Waymo<\/strong> and Tesla<\/a><\/em><\/strong> in the autonomous taxi service, dubbed “robotaxi<\/strong>.” As this fierce competition continues, Waymo<\/strong> has taken things a step further because the company is no longer content with just city streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand, which falls under Google’s parent company Alphabet<\/strong>, announced it will now serve passengers on the highways<\/strong> in San Francisco<\/strong>, Los Angeles<\/strong>, and Phoenix<\/strong>. Until now, the company’s robotaxi<\/strong> services were generally limited to city centers. However, highways<\/strong>, with their high speed limits and complex traffic, are considered one of the toughest tests for autonomous systems<\/strong>.
