Anthropic<\/strong> has now made its Claude AI<\/strong>‘s memory feature<\/strong> available to individual users. The AI is becoming more personal, efficient, and secure with project-focused memory spaces<\/strong>, incognito chats<\/strong>, and the new “Claude Skills<\/strong>” system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AI company Anthropic<\/strong> has begun rolling out the memory feature<\/strong>, which it announced last month for Team and Enterprise users, to individual paid users as well. Previously, ChatGPT<\/strong> had launched a similar system in early 2024. Anthropic<\/strong> will gradually introduce this feature to Claude Max<\/strong> and Claude Pro<\/strong> users over the next two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Memory and What Does It Do?<\/strong> The memory feature<\/strong> allows Claude<\/strong> to recall previous conversations<\/strong> and project-based information with users. This enables the AI to establish continuity across sessions<\/strong> and increase user productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project-Focused Memory Spaces<\/strong> One of the most important differentiators of Claude’s<\/strong> memory system is its ability to create project-focused memory spaces<\/strong>. Each project has its own dedicated “memory space<\/strong>.” This way, information belonging to that project is stored only within the relevant context, without being mixed with other topics. In this aspect, Claude’s<\/strong> system differs from ChatGPT’s<\/strong> memory structure, which collects data from all conversations. Users can also instruct Claude<\/strong> to prioritize certain information or to completely “forget<\/strong>” some past data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incognito Chat Option<\/strong> For users concerned about privacy<\/strong>, Claude<\/strong> also offers an “incognito<\/strong>” chat option. Conversations made in this mode are neither saved to memory nor kept in the chat history. All data is automatically deleted when the user closes the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claude Skills: New Capabilities for the AI<\/strong> Anthropic<\/strong> is also drawing attention not only with the memory feature but also with the new capabilities it has recently added to Claude<\/strong>. Thanks to the “Claude Skills<\/strong>” system, users can create custom instructions in markdown<\/strong> format to specialize the AI for specific tasks. For example, it is possible to add personalized skills for processes such as data analysis<\/strong>, document creation<\/strong>, or content writing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced Coding Support: Claude Code<\/strong> The company has also made the Claude Code<\/strong> feature accessible on web and iOS<\/strong> platforms. This allows users to write code<\/strong>, send PR (pull requests)<\/strong>, and manage projects<\/strong> directly from their browser or smartphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Steps to Using Memory<\/strong> Users who want to try Claude’s<\/strong> memory system can see the information it remembers from past chats by simply asking a question like, “What were we working on last week?” Additionally, it is possible to import<\/strong> memory data from other AI tools like ChatGPT<\/strong> or to export<\/strong> data from Claude<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
