Duracell<\/strong>, one of the first brands that comes to mind when talking about energy<\/strong>, is now venturing into electric vehicle charging stations<\/strong> with its famous black and bronze design. The charging infrastructure<\/strong> is being prepared to hit the roads, designed to resemble the iconic battery<\/strong> cylinders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone knows Duracell<\/strong> batteries’ famous black and bronze colors or the adorable bunny whose energy<\/strong> never runs out. This iconic brand<\/strong>, which is the power source for millions of toys and devices, is now making an ambitious entry into the electric vehicle<\/strong> world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company has succeeded in drawing attention by designing its EV charging infrastructure<\/strong> to resemble the giant cylindrical batteries<\/strong> that we are all familiar with. This new charging infrastructure<\/strong> will be financed by The EV Network<\/strong> in the United Kingdom<\/strong> and the installation will be carried out by Elektra Charge<\/strong>. Although a global expansion plan has not been announced yet, the goals in the UK<\/strong> are quite ambitious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports in the press, six charging stations<\/strong> will be operational by the end of the year. The long-term plan is to open 100 sites with at least 500 charging points<\/strong> by 2030<\/strong>. If this start is successful, the expansion of Duracell<\/strong>-branded charging points<\/strong> to Europe<\/strong> and even further regions may be on the agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Bloxham<\/strong>, Chief Development Officer of The EV Network<\/strong>, explains the main motivation behind Duracell’s<\/strong> entry into this market. According to Bloxham, the lack of information about charging<\/strong> is the biggest obstacle preventing many people from using electric vehicles<\/strong>. However, Bloxham believes that bringing a well-known brand like Duracell<\/strong> to the market will immediately provide familiarity and trust<\/strong> to the consumer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is not entirely wrong… People have been accustomed to gas pumps<\/strong> for over a century. In contrast, the thought of plugging into an EV charging port<\/strong>, which still appears relatively complex and confusing, can deter potential users. The universally recognized Duracell brand<\/strong> aims to eliminate this sense of unfamiliarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only the Duracell<\/strong> brand but also the technology<\/strong> it offers is noteworthy. Each charging unit<\/strong>, designed to resemble the massive single-cell batteries<\/strong> that power toys, has the capacity to charge two vehicles simultaneously. What is truly impressive is the speed<\/strong>… These chargers<\/strong> will offer a speed<\/strong> of approximately 400 kW<\/strong>. This performance places them among the fastest chargers<\/strong> currently available in Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
