The company describes this step as a “critical milestone” reached in the development process.

According to TP-Link’s statement, Wi-Fi 8’s signal broadcasting and data transfer capabilities were successfully validated even in the prototype phase. This result is seen as important proof that the technology can be confidently used in future consumer products. The company states that it developed this prototype as part of an “industry partnership” and expects the first consumer devices to be released even before the standard is officially approved. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) anticipates the Wi-Fi 8 standard will be officially finalized by 2028.

The targeted technical details for Wi-Fi 8 were also shared by chipset manufacturer Qualcomm. According to information provided by Qualcomm, the new standard will continue to use the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, just like previous versions. In terms of theoretical speed, Wi-Fi 8 is expected to reach a maximum data rate of 23 Gbps with a 320 MHz channel width.

However, the primary goal of Wi-Fi 8 is not just to break speed records. The new standard is being designed to focus on connection quality compared to previous versions. This means offering a more stable connection, especially in areas with a weak signal or in dense network environments where many devices are connected simultaneously at home or in the office.

The new system will feature an advanced architecture capable of managing more devices concurrently and preventing a drop in network performance. The aim is to significantly maintain the current connection speed and quality even when users move away from the modem or walk around the house. Wi-Fi 8 promises not only faster internet but also a seamless and reliable internet experience in every corner.

You Might Also Like;

The View That Changes Everything: Artemis 2’s Deep Space Eclipse

YouTube’s Digital Clone Era: Create Your AI Avatar for Shorts

Petcube GPS Tracker Review: Specs, Features & Price

Are you frustrated by the weak signal spots in your home Wi-Fi network and the drop in performance as you move away from the modem?
