Tesla<\/strong> experienced a significant drop in Cybertruck<\/a><\/em><\/strong> sales in the third quarter of 2025. While Model 3<\/strong> and Model Y<\/strong> sales rose, the Cybertruck<\/strong> is making headlines due to lack of interest, a lawsuit, and Musk\u2019s<\/strong> sales to his own companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a tough few months, Tesla<\/strong> sales started to rise again, influenced by the end of federal Electric Vehicle (EV) tax incentives<\/strong>. However, while customers are showing strong interest in the Model 3<\/strong> and Model Y<\/strong> models, Tesla\u2019s newest vehicle<\/strong>, the Cybertruck<\/strong>, is not seeing the expected demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tesla<\/strong> only managed to sell 5,385 units<\/strong> of the Cybertruck<\/strong> in the third quarter of 2025<\/strong>. This represents a 63% decrease<\/strong> compared to the same period in 2024. Last year, more than 14,000 Cybertrucks<\/strong> were delivered during that quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company sold slightly more than 16,000 Cybertrucks<\/strong> throughout the entirety of 2025<\/strong>. This figure is far from Elon Musk\u2019s<\/strong> annual sales target of 250,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of approximately 20,000 Cybertrucks<\/strong> are expected to be delivered by the end of the year, which is less than half of the 50,000<\/strong> units sold in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These data were shared by Kelley Blue Book<\/strong> and published by Business Insider<\/strong>. Tesla<\/strong> does not report Cybertruck<\/strong> sales separately in its official reports, instead including them in the “other models<\/strong>” category along with the Model S and Model X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the Tesla Cybertruck<\/strong> lags behind, the overall EV market<\/strong> showed strong performance in the third quarter. A total of 438,487 electric vehicles<\/strong> were sold; this represents an increase of 40.7%<\/strong> compared to the previous quarter and a 29.6% increase<\/strong> compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reason for this surge is attributed to consumers rushing to buy EVs<\/strong> before the $7,500 tax credit<\/strong> expired on September 30th. However, experts anticipate a sharp decline in sales in the fourth quarter with the end of this incentive\u2014which could further exacerbate the Cybertruck\u2019s<\/strong> difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
