Huawei has announced the Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis<\/strong> feature for its WATCH D2 smartwatch<\/strong>, which has received a CE Medical Device Regulation (MDR) certificate<\/strong> from the European Union. Furthermore, the device will also receive the Blood Pressure Management<\/strong> feature, based on the oscillometric measurement method, starting in October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of World Heart Day, Huawei announced its innovations in the field of wearable technology<\/strong>. The company is introducing two new health monitoring<\/strong> features to users of the HUAWEI WATCH D2<\/strong> smartwatch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis<\/strong> feature is a technology that has received the CE MDR certificate<\/strong> from the European Union. This feature allows users to receive early warnings<\/strong> against possible risks by offering the ability to monitor irregular heart rhythms<\/strong>, including potential atrial fibrillation<\/strong> risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced Blood Pressure Management<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Blood Pressure Management<\/strong> feature will be available to all WATCH D2<\/strong> users via a free OTA update<\/strong> starting early October 2025. This feature is based on the oscillometric measurement method<\/strong>, which is used in traditional blood pressure monitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The device measures systolic and diastolic blood pressure<\/strong> directly and provides numerical results using its built-in Ultra-Narrow Mechanical Airbag<\/strong> and TruSense System<\/strong>. This method aims to provide more concrete data, unlike PPG sensors that rely on light reflections. With this feature, users can perform scheduled measurements<\/strong>, all-day tracking<\/strong>, and nighttime measurements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Health Management Features<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the update, the Health Glance<\/strong> feature has been enhanced to provide a comprehensive assessment covering 13 different health indicators<\/strong> with a single tap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the Health Community<\/strong> feature within the HUAWEI Health<\/strong> application has also been updated. Users will be able to share their health metrics<\/strong>, including the newly added blood pressure and arrhythmia data, with family members, allowing for remote health tracking and support<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
