Last year, Apple launched the Vision Pro mixed-reality headset with a price tag of $3500. However, according to a report by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the company made an unexpected decision. The cheap Vision Pro has been shelved for now. The Vision Air process was stopped to prioritize smart glasses that will compete with Meta. According to information obtained from Gurman’s sources, Apple has suspended the development process for the Vision Air headset. Instead, the company reportedly wants to focus more on everyday smart glasses that will rival Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, and aims to release that product as quickly as possible.

It was already known that Apple was developing Meta-like smart glasses. However, we had not seen many details about them. They are expected to have a camera, microphone, and artificial intelligence (AI) features. Of course, for the AI features to be good, Apple first needs to introduce the new Siri and improve Apple Intelligence. It is also rumored that a display won’t be in the first version but will be included in a version coming in subsequent years. Current speculation suggests the first pair of glasses will arrive either in 2026 or 2027.

You Might Also Like;

The Dark Side of Nanotechnology: Could Microscopic Swarms Erase Billions?

The Illusion of Digital Immortality: Are You Really Uploading Your Mind?

The View That Changes Everything: Artemis 2’s Deep Space Eclipse

Apple has reportedly suspended its affordable Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, which was rumored to be named Vision Air.
