The new Arc spacecraft<\/strong> will soon be able to transport all types of cargo weighing up to 225 kilograms (about 500 lbs)<\/strong>. In a future where this technology is widespread, the era of waiting for cargo for days will come to an end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Angeles-based company Inversion<\/strong> has unveiled its groundbreaking new spacecraft, Arc<\/strong>. This brand-new vehicle will be able to deliver up to 225 kilograms<\/strong> of payload to any point on Earth within one hour. Justin Fiaschetti<\/strong>, the company\u2019s co-founder and CEO, explained that Arc<\/strong> can remain on standby in orbit for up to five years<\/strong> and, when needed, autonomously descend to Earth to quickly deliver critical supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2021, Inversion<\/strong> has made notable progress quickly. Their first test vehicle, “Ray<\/strong>,” was launched into space on SpaceX<\/a><\/em>‘s Transporter-12 mission<\/strong> in January. Although it did not perform a controlled landing, the Ray<\/strong> mission provided confidence in the company\u2019s technology by successfully testing orbital maneuvering and software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short, the Arc<\/strong> is designed as a spacecraft<\/strong> that does not require a runway for landing<\/strong> and can safely return to Earth using a parachute system<\/strong>. Thanks to its non-toxic fuel system, the vehicle can be safely accessed by soldiers or teams immediately after landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of military use<\/strong>, the plan is to transport critical items like medicine, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)<\/strong>, or vital equipment during critical moments. The company states that it has already produced a full-scale prototype of Arc<\/strong> and aims to be ready for its first mission by the end of 2026<\/strong>. If Inversion<\/strong> meets this goal, the era of waiting for cargo for days\u2014not just for critical missions but also in general logistics\u2014could slowly begin to fade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
