New research from Anthropic<\/strong> reveals that the role of artificial intelligence<\/strong> in the workforce is rapidly changing. It is no longer just assisting humans; it is being used to automate entry-level tasks<\/strong> to reduce costs. This situation poses a serious threat to Generation Z<\/strong>, who are at the beginning of their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anthropic<\/strong>, one of the leading companies in the artificial intelligence<\/strong> field, has revealed a remarkable shift in the business world with its “Economic Index”<\/strong> report. An analysis of how companies use AI tools like Claude.ai<\/strong> shows that corporate demand is largely focused on automation<\/strong>. The data indicates that 77%<\/strong> of business users are using AI to automate tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This rapid change is putting young professionals just starting their careers in a difficult position. A Stanford University-backed study revealed a 13% decline<\/strong> in employment for young people aged 22-25 working in jobs most affected by AI. Companies are delegating repetitive, non-managerial tasks\u2014such as programming ventilation systems or writing customer service scripts\u2014to artificial intelligence<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. While this reduces costs, it also leads to a decrease in the number of entry-level positions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anthropic’s<\/strong> research notes that since December 2024, the use of automation<\/strong> has risen from 27% to 39%<\/strong>, surpassing augmentation<\/strong> (assistive) use for the first time. This indicates that AI is no longer just an ‘assistant’ but is becoming an ‘agent’ that takes on the work itself. While the use of AI in tasks traditionally entrusted to humans, such as management and finance, is decreasing, its use in educational and scientific fields is on the rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This situation reveals that the transformation AI will bring to the business world is faster and more radical than we might have thought. Generation Z<\/strong> and entry-level employees<\/strong>, in particular, may need to focus on skills that automation<\/strong> cannot easily replicate\u2014such as complex problem-solving<\/strong> and creative thinking<\/strong>\u2014to secure their place in the future workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
