Named by <strong>Queen Mary<\/strong>, the vessel is expected to save up to 900 tons of CO\u00b2 annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a ceremony in <strong>Copenhagen<\/strong>, the capital of <strong>Denmark<\/strong>, the country&#8217;s first all-electric tugboat, SVITZER INGRID, was officially named by <strong>Queen Mary<\/strong>. The event, attended by over 100 guests from the maritime sector, also featured <strong>Turkish Sanmar Shipyards<\/strong>, which built the tugboat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sanmar<\/strong> is a world leader in producing zero-emission, fully electric tugboats. With this new vessel built for its long-term partner <strong>SVITZER<\/strong>, the company has once again solidified its leadership in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"404\" src=\"https:\/\/metaverseplanet.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/indir-17.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28289\" style=\"width:750px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/metaverseplanet.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/indir-17.webp 720w, https:\/\/metaverseplanet.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/indir-17-300x168.webp 300w, https:\/\/metaverseplanet.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/indir-17-390x220.webp 390w, https:\/\/metaverseplanet.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/indir-17-150x84.webp 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Both High-Performing and Zero-EmissionSVITZER INGRID is based on the <strong>ElectRA 2500SX<\/strong> design, which was developed exclusively for <strong>Sanmar<\/strong> by the <strong>Canadian<\/strong> naval engineering firm <strong>Robert Allan Ltd<\/strong>. The tugboat is 25.4 meters long, 12.86 meters wide, and has a draft of 5.40 meters. Equipped with an 1,808 kWh battery system, FFV1 fire-fighting equipment, and a 70-ton bollard pull, the vessel can perform 90% of its operations on battery power alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This technology is expected to reduce carbon emissions in the <strong>\u00d6resund<\/strong> region by 600-900 tons annually. A single one-hour charge from shore power\u2014sourced from renewable energy\u2014is sufficient for daily operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SVITZER INGRID is the 30th tugboat <strong>Sanmar<\/strong> has delivered to <strong>SVITZER<\/strong>. It is also the ninth fully electric tugboat produced by the company and the first electric vessel in <strong>SVITZER&#8217;s<\/strong> global fleet. <strong>Sanmar\u2019s<\/strong> fully electric <strong>ElectRA<\/strong> tugboats are already in service in <strong>Europe<\/strong>, <strong>North America<\/strong>, and <strong>Latin America<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sanmar<\/strong> states that it has built more than half of the world&#8217;s fully electric tugboats at its environmentally friendly shipyards in <strong>Turkey<\/strong>. With this vessel delivered to <strong>Denmark<\/strong>\u2014following previous deliveries to <strong>Canada<\/strong>, <strong>Chile<\/strong>, and <strong>Norway<\/strong>\u2014the company continues to set global standards in sustainable maritime transport.
