Meta plans to deliver a display experience to users with its Hypernova<\/strong> smart glasses. According to new information, the Meta Hypernova<\/strong> smart glasses could be unveiled in September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meta is preparing to introduce its long-rumored smart glasses with a display, Hypernova<\/strong>, next month. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the device will be offered at a more affordable price than previously estimated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hypernova<\/strong> will be a high-end version of the Ray-Ban<\/a><\/em> Meta<\/a><\/em> Smart Glasses<\/strong> and will feature a small display<\/strong> in the lower part of the right lens, visible only to the user. This display can be controlled by a wristband accessory called Ceres<\/strong>, which was first introduced in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The device will feature a Qualcomm processor<\/strong> and run on a special version of Android<\/strong>. On the main screen, apps will be listed horizontally. There will also be special applications for the camera, gallery, and artificial intelligence. For a smoother user experience, there will also be capacitive touch controls<\/strong> on both sides of the glasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, in April, it was stated that Hypernova<\/strong> would be priced in the $1000\u2013$1400<\/strong> range. However, according to sources close to the company, Meta has significantly reduced the price to boost demand. Accordingly, the glasses will be sold for $800<\/strong>. This pricing places it at the same level as the iPhone 16<\/strong>. Style options and prescription lenses will be priced separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new report indicates that the launch will take place next month<\/strong>, contrary to the previously uncertain timeline. This development comes approximately two months after Meta introduced its first smart glasses under the Oakley brand<\/strong>. The Oakley model is available starting at $499<\/strong> and offers more advanced features compared to the Ray-Ban Smart Glasses, specifically targeting athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meta is also working on Project Orion<\/strong>. Introduced at last year’s Meta<\/a><\/em><\/strong> Connect event, Orion<\/strong> aims to offer the advantages of the Quest 3 VR headset<\/strong> in a lighter and more stylish glasses form factor. CEO Mark Zuckerberg<\/a><\/em><\/strong> describes this device as “the most advanced glasses the world has ever seen” and emphasizes that the future of computing will be shaped by such devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
