Smarter Web Company PLC (AQUIS: SWC) announced on Tuesday that it has purchased another 295 bitcoin<\/strong> at an average price of \u00a389,000 ($119,412)<\/strong>. This acquisition represents a total investment of \u00a326.3 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the company’s press release, this latest purchase brings its total bitcoin holdings to 2,395 bitcoins<\/strong>. These bitcoins were acquired at an average price of \u00a382,399 ($110,555)<\/strong>, raising the total investment to \u00a3197.3 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The London-listed technology company, which provides web design, development, and online marketing services, stated that this acquisition was part of its “10-Year Plan<\/strong>,” a treasury policy that includes accumulating bitcoin<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company also noted that it holds approximately \u00a3700,000 in net cash<\/strong> for potential future bitcoin purchases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smarter Web Company began accepting bitcoin for payments in 2023<\/strong> and has integrated the cryptocurrency into its corporate strategy. The company stated, “We believe that bitcoin<\/a><\/em><\/strong> plays a fundamental role in the future of the global financial system.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the firm’s internal calculations, its bitcoin holdings have yielded a 55.069% return<\/strong> since the beginning of the year and a 76% return<\/strong> in the last 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smarter Web Company is traded on various exchanges, including the AQUIS Exchange<\/strong>, OTCQB<\/strong>, and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its board statement, the company acknowledged that while it believes holding bitcoin is in the best interest of the company, the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority views bitcoin investment as a high-risk investment<\/strong> due to significant price volatility and market risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
