Samsung has started rolling out Gemini<\/a><\/em><\/strong> support for its Galaxy Buds 3<\/strong> headphones, but there’s an important requirement: the user’s phone must have received the Android 16<\/strong>-based One UI 8<\/strong> update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gemini<\/strong> is Google’s<\/a><\/em><\/strong> smart assistant that uses artificial intelligence to provide better responses, understand context, and perform more advanced tasks. Following the Pixel Buds<\/strong>, Samsung is now bringing this support to its newest headphones, the Galaxy Buds 3<\/strong> series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest update for the Galaxy Buds 3<\/strong> and Buds 3 Pro<\/strong> activates Gemini<\/strong>. After updating the headphones and the Galaxy Wearable<\/strong> app, a new “Set up Google digital assistant” option appears in the “Voice controls<\/strong>” section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there are two caveats. First, to experience the Gemini<\/strong> AI on the Buds 3<\/strong> headphones, the phone needs to have received the Android 16<\/strong> (One UI 8<\/strong>) update. One UI 8<\/strong> is currently only available as a beta on the Galaxy S25<\/strong> series and comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Z Fold 7<\/strong> and Flip 7<\/strong>. Additionally, some users who have Android 16<\/strong> and have performed the necessary updates still don’t see the Gemini<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
