According to the IEA<\/strong>, renewable sources<\/strong> are expected to overtake coal<\/strong> as the leader in global electricity generation<\/strong> by 2025 or 2026. During the same period, nuclear power production<\/strong> is also preparing to break records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Energy Agency (IEA)<\/strong> announced that global electricity demand<\/strong> is projected to increase by an average of more than 3% annually until 2026. This growth is primarily driven by expanding industrial<\/strong>, transport<\/strong>, and data center<\/strong> usage, especially in emerging economies in Asia. In the first half of 2025, wholesale electricity prices<\/strong> in the European Union<\/strong> and the US increased by 30% to 40% compared to the previous year. This is primarily due to tightening natural gas markets<\/strong>. Although prices<\/strong> remain below the 2023 average, they are still significantly higher than in 2019. Additionally, the increasing occurrence of negative wholesale prices<\/strong> highlights an urgent need for investments<\/strong> in grid flexibility<\/strong>, energy storage<\/strong>, and flexible consumption<\/strong>. Industrial competition<\/strong> varies significantly across regions. In Europe, electricity prices<\/strong> for energy-intensive sectors<\/strong> are twice as high as in the US and considerably higher than in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
