In Shenzhen, China, 7-Eleven stores are now receiving their drinks and snacks via the metro using wheeled, “penguin-like” robots. The system, which became operational on Monday, stands out as the world’s first metro-based retail delivery initiative<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Li Yanyan, manager of 7-Eleven, this system is far more practical than previous manual transportation methods. “Previously, delivery personnel manually carried goods to metro stations. Now, robots do this quietly and efficiently,” she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
