Samsung has announced that it is working on new device forms like earrings<\/strong>, necklaces<\/strong>, and glasses<\/strong> as alternatives to its existing wearable products<\/strong> such as smartwatches<\/strong> and rings<\/strong>. The company states that these products could enable users to communicate without carrying their phones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Won-joon Choi, COO of Samsung’s Mobile eXperience Business, emphasized the importance of wearable devices<\/strong> truly being “wearable without being carried.” In this context, it was stated that the company is moving towards different accessories like glasses<\/strong>, earrings<\/strong>, and necklaces<\/strong>, in addition to traditional wearables<\/strong> such as watches and rings. Work on these new wearables<\/strong> is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, Samsung announced that it was developing smart glasses<\/strong> in collaboration with Google<\/strong>. Furthermore, according to a report published in May, the company is also known to be working on a high-resolution micro-display for augmented reality glasses<\/strong>. It is currently unknown when these devices with new form factors will be released. However, Samsung’s steps in this area indicate that wearable technology products<\/strong> could appear in many different forms in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
