The satellites are equipped with modems that can transmit cell phone signals directly to devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the initial phase, <strong>Kyivstar<\/strong> will launch <strong>OTT messaging services<\/strong> via platforms like WhatsApp and Signal by the end of the year. <strong>Satellite-backed mobile broadband internet<\/strong> and <strong>voice services<\/strong> are planned for the second quarter of 2026. <strong>T-Mobile<\/strong> in the U.S. had also announced plans to launch a similar mobile data service operating via Starlink in October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, it has been reported that Ukraine&#8217;s telecommunications infrastructure has largely remained intact despite recent increases in Russian attacks. According to Komarov, networks can now provide uninterrupted service for up to <strong>10 hours<\/strong> even during nationwide power outages. During major attacks in 2023, almost half of the country&#8217;s energy production capacity was disabled, leading to daily outages in cities.
