A study by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT)<\/strong> has revealed just how environmentally friendly electric vehicles are. The results show that electric cars produce 73% fewer emissions than gasoline cars, even when their manufacturing processes are included<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electric cars are seen as essential for a “clean future.”<\/strong> However, people have been questioning how environmentally friendly they truly are<\/strong> compared to internal combustion vehicles. The manufacturing processes, in particular, have raised doubts more so than the vehicle’s use. Yet, a new study has revealed the significant difference<\/strong> between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report published by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT)<\/strong>, electric cars<\/strong> sold in Europe today are 73% cleaner than internal combustion vehicles<\/strong>. This figure even includes the criticized battery production processes<\/strong>. This means that even when combining their manufacturing and usage, they result in significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s important to note that this percentage has changed and improved compared to a few years ago. In 2021<\/strong>, there was a 59% difference<\/strong>. In four years, a significant improvement<\/strong> has been made, increasing the difference to 73%<\/strong>. This indicates that advancing technology has increased the environmental friendliness of electric vehicles. We can foresee this gap widening even further as time progresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The research also included hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles<\/strong>. Little progress was observed in these types of vehicles. According to the data, these vehicles produce 20-30% fewer emissions<\/strong> than internal combustion vehicles. The reason for this is their greater need for gasoline than necessary. Therefore, they are not yet as suitable for a clean future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary purpose of this research is to provide scientific data against myths surrounding electric vehicles and to inform the public. However, according to the ICCT<\/strong> and other studies, electric vehicles can quickly close this gap as they are used<\/strong>. Thus, in the long run, we can confidently say that electric cars are overwhelmingly cleaner<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the increasing use of renewable energy<\/strong> and the widespread adoption of electric cars, the goal of a cleaner future is slowly being realized. In Europe, 58%<\/strong> of electricity is expected to be generated from renewable sources by the end of this year. By 2045<\/strong>, this rate could reach 86%<\/strong>. The increase in clean electricity production alongside the rise of electric vehicles will be very beneficial for the world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
