Researchers from leading Chinese universities, <strong>Jiao Tong University<\/strong> and <strong>Zhejiang University<\/strong>, have made a significant breakthrough in this area. Scientists have introduced &#8220;the world&#8217;s first memory operating system&#8221; for artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This system is named &#8220;<strong>MemOS<\/strong>.&#8221; MemOS enables AI models to possess <strong>human-like memory and learning abilities<\/strong>. These tests showed that the <strong>MemOS system<\/strong> performed significantly better in <strong>reasoning<\/strong>\u2014by a remarkable <strong>159%<\/strong>\u2014compared to the systems used by <strong>OpenAI&#8217;s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/metaverseplanet.net\/blog\/tag\/chatgpt-news-and-content\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"65\">ChatGPT<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. In terms of <strong>memory<\/strong>, it demonstrated a <strong>38.98% better performance<\/strong>. It yielded particularly good results in complex scenarios, such as linking information across multiple conversations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most current AI models are not very successful with long-term memory because they restart user information from scratch in conversations. Of course, ChatGPT&#8217;s memory feature is one of the better examples in this regard. It will achieve this through modular memory units called &#8220;<strong>MemCubes<\/strong>,&#8221; developed by the researchers. These units have a structure that can store different types of information, allowing it to be transferred and evolved over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The researchers have released <strong>MemOS as an open-source project on GitHub<\/strong>. In the future, we may see this system integrated into various AI models.
