In Beijing, at the “RoBoLeague,” the World Robot Football League<\/strong>, humanoid robots showcased their skills in three-on-three football matches. In the semi-final match between Tsinghua University’s Vulcan Team<\/strong> and Beijing Information & Science Technology University’s Blaze Light Team<\/strong>, the robots took to the field entirely under artificial intelligence (AI)<\/a><\/em> control<\/strong>, without any human assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can they kick the ball? Yes. But there’s certainly no danger of footballers losing their jobs, just like many other professions. When it comes to playing football, robots are still quite amateur.
