In the new era, an assistant is coming that won’t leave students<\/strong> alone in the classroom: Google has announced Gemini<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, its specialized artificial intelligence<\/strong> tool for education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the ISTE Conference, Google introduced its new artificial intelligence<\/strong> solution for the world of education: Gemini for Education<\/strong>. Moreover, this tool is being integrated into the Google Workspace<\/strong> system that schools are already using, free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the features that come with Gemini<\/strong>, the tools offering both audio and visual summaries are noteworthy. Teachers<\/strong> will be able to help students<\/strong> grasp subjects more easily by creating AI-powered virtual tutors<\/strong> called “Gems<\/strong>.” Additionally, thanks to Google’s platform named NotebookLM<\/strong>, students<\/strong> can upload their documents to the system and listen to audio summaries of this content. With the newly added Video Overviews feature, these summaries will now be accompanied by visual explanations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The basic version of the platform will be offered for free. However, for more comprehensive features, a Google Workspace with Gemini<\/strong> add-on will be available for a monthly fee of $18 per user. This version will also allow teachers<\/strong> to produce short videos using a text-to-video tool called Veo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google’s move comes at a time when discussions about how artificial intelligence<\/strong> should be integrated into education<\/strong> are ongoing. Although it has high potential to support students<\/strong>, risks such as cheating still concern teachers<\/strong>.
