The company is now preparing to move into the <strong>clinical trial<\/strong> phase following this development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paradromics&#8217; <strong>brain chip<\/strong> was first implanted in a human during a surgery at the University of Michigan on May 14. The patient was already undergoing brain surgery for <strong>epilepsy treatment<\/strong>. The company seized this opportunity to temporarily place the device. Paradromics, founded in 2015, is awaiting <strong>regulatory approval<\/strong> to proceed with clinical trials. Following the completion of the approval process, a <strong>human trial<\/strong> is planned to examine the long-term safety and effectiveness of the device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system developed by Paradromics was introduced under the name &#8220;<strong>Connexus<\/strong>.&#8221; The system aims to enable individuals who have <strong>lost the ability to speak due to paralysis<\/strong> to communicate through a computer. The company states that the device can record <strong>brain signals at the individual neuron level<\/strong>. Paradromics has received approximately <strong>$100 million in investment<\/strong> to date. The company has also announced a <strong>strategic collaboration with Saudi Arabia&#8217;s NEOM project<\/strong>.
