After years of intense legal disputes, it has been officially announced that an agreement has been reached<\/strong> between the two parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a major development today, Ripple\u2019s Chief Legal Officer<\/strong>, Stuart Alderoty<\/strong>, issued a statement via the company\u2019s official X (formerly Twitter)<\/strong> account. According to Alderoty, the SEC<\/strong> decided last week to unconditionally withdraw its appeal<\/strong>. Following this move, Ripple<\/strong> also agreed to withdraw its cross-appeal<\/strong>. The mutual withdrawal of legal actions will officially bring the case to an end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the settlement, it was reported that Ripple will receive a partial refund<\/strong>. Of the $125 million<\/strong> initially imposed as a fine, $75 million<\/strong> will be returned to Ripple<\/strong>, while the SEC<\/strong> will retain $50 million<\/strong>. It was also stated that the SEC will apply to the court to lift the ongoing injunction<\/strong> related to the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This outcome is expected to have significant implications for the broader crypto market<\/strong>, especially for XRP holders<\/strong> and enthusiasts.
