<\/figure>\n\n\n\nIn addition to investing billions of dollars in key AI startups like OpenAI, Microsoft also launched a new organization earlier this year that it calls Microsoft AI. This organization is positioned as the brain of all of Microsoft’s activities in the field of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently, however, the fact that the employees of this new organization receive higher salaries than their counterparts in other departments has also brought about discussions about salary inequality within the company. While the artificial intelligence department is of course happy with these salary differences, employees in other departments are not happy with the situation at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to sources close to Microsoft, employees in Microsoft’s AI department receive an average salary of 377 thousand dollars per year. This figure is an average of 120 thousand dollars more than other departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although it is not possible for us to know the balances within the company, it does not sound strange that software engineers are paid more in an important field such as artificial intelligence. Of course, adjusting the salary balance between employees is an important issue for a giant company like Microsoft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
