A photographer who participated in an artificial intelligence photography contest won the competition with a real photo but was subsequently disqualified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is significant criticism regarding the participation of AI-generated images in photo contests. This time, a photographer was disqualified because he did not submit an AI-generated photo, leading to his awards being revoked. Photographer Miles Astray was nominated in the artificial intelligence category for the prestigious 1839 Awards, which focus on new technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His work “F I L A M I N G O N E,” featuring a headless flamingo, was captured in 2022 on a beach in Aruba with a Nikon D750 camera using a 50mm prime lens, f\/1.8 aperture, and 1\/1600 shutter speed. The photo won both the third prize and the People’s Choice award in the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
