At the recent Made by Google event, the latest Pixel devices and several AI enhancements were unveiled. Among the most intriguing announcements was Gemini Live, developed by Google. Gemini Live is an AI-powered feature on your phone that goes beyond the capabilities of Google Assistant, offering advanced functionality, including the ability to chat.

What is Gemini Live?

Gemini Live, one of the most powerful AI chatbots announced by Google at the Made by Google event, is now available for Android. Similar to ChatGPT, Gemini Live features advanced capabilities, including the ability to converse using natural human-like speech. It has been released for Pixel and Samsung phones.

Gemini Live, though newly introduced, is already available to Gemini Advanced subscribers. Currently, it has only been released for Pixel phones and select Galaxy devices. If you don’t have a Samsung or Pixel device, you’ll need to purchase a monthly subscription for $20 to use this feature.

To use the app on your device, follow these steps:

  1. Update the Google Gemini app on your phone.
  2. Update the Google app as well.
  3. Log in to your Google Account using your Gemini Advanced subscription.
  4. Open the Gemini app.
  5. Click on the AI Voice button in the lower right corner.
  6. When the Gemini Live screen appears, click “Start” to begin voice chatting.
