Unitree has unveiled the mass production-ready version of its humanoid robot, the G1, in a recently shared video. Priced at $16,000, this robot is expected to soon make its way into homes.
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence has led to significant progress in robotics. However, until now, we haven’t seen humanoid robots integrated into everyday home use, as depicted in science fiction. Such devices have typically been limited to environments like laboratories or factories. But Chinese robotics startup Unitree is set to change that with its G1 robot.
The company has released a video showcasing the production-ready version of the G1 and revealed its pricing. This robot is an enhanced version of the H1 model that Unitree introduced last year.

As shown in the video above, the production-ready version of the G1 features a humanoid design. The robot stands at a compact height of 1.31 meters and is designed to be foldable and easy to carry. However, it’s worth noting that the G1 weighs 34 kilograms, so it’s not particularly lightweight.
The Unitree G1 is equipped with an unnamed 8-core high-performance CPU. Its arms, legs, and torso feature reinforced joints, enabling it to jump, reach speeds of up to 7 km/h, and even navigate stairs with obstacles. However, there is currently no information on how the G1 performs in more challenging conditions.
The robot’s body is designed to carry out everyday tasks. Its arms and hands, for instance, are capable of holding delicate objects and even flipping food in a pan. LED-equipped cameras on its head enable it to see the world in 3D. Additionally, the robot is powered by a 9,000 mAh battery that provides up to 2 hours of operation.
The Unitree G1 is equipped with the company’s own language model, enabling the robot to learn functions through imitation. In other words, it won’t immediately be able to prepare breakfast for you on its own.
It is not clear when the G1, which will be one of the first in humanoid robots, will debut. The price will be 16 thousand dollars
