Tim Cook Reveals Apple’s Potential in Metaverse Space

At a financial quarter meeting, Apple CEO Tim Cook addressed analysts’ questions, making significant remarks about the metaverse.

The metaverse, a concept that made a mark in 2021, is poised to be a highly discussed topic in the tech world for 2022. Its growing popularity continues to draw the attention of major brands.

Apple recently disclosed its financial results for the first fiscal quarter of 2022, reporting a revenue of $123.9 billion.

During this meeting, Tim Cook, responding to a question from Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty about the metaverse, expressed that Apple sees considerable potential in this area.

Cook highlighted that App Store developers have created over 14,000 applications using ARKit, providing iOS users with successful augmented reality experiences.

He shared that Apple sees immense potential in augmented reality and the metaverse, and is making investments in areas they perceive as promising.

Cook mentioned that when venturing into new domains, they consider the intersection of hardware, software, and services.

While he indicated there are various areas of interest, he did not specify which ones. It’s also worth noting that Apple may introduce mixed reality glasses this year.

Previously, we reported that Apple’s mixed reality glasses wouldn’t be primarily focused on the metaverse. However, in light of Tim Cook’s recent statements, it wouldn’t be surprising if these glasses included features tailored for the metaverse.
