The Sandbox and TIME Join Forces: A Significant Partnership

A significant partnership has been established between The Sandbox and TIME, marking a strategic move that will enhance TIME’s presence in the Metaverse.

TIMEPieces, an NFT community initiative led by the American media company TIME, in collaboration with Sandbox, announced on Tuesday their joint effort to develop ‘TIME Square,’ which will serve as the company’s primary destination in the Metaverse.

TIME Square is set to be constructed within the virtual landscape of The Sandbox, drawing inspiration from the vibrant visual spirit and energy of New York City’s iconic Times Square. It will serve as a meeting place, an art hub, and a workspace. The announcement revealed that TIME Square aims to be an inclusive space, offering unique experiences to the owners of TIMEPieces. The area will cater to the TIMEPieces community, providing virtual access to discussions, events, screenings by TIME Studios, and educational experiences.

Keith A. Grossman, President of TIME, unveiled the partnership during the Sandbox event at NFT.NYC. In addition, he issued an open invitation for architects to contribute their vision in designing TIME Square, reimagining this world-famous cultural hub for the Metaverse.

TIMEPieces is reaching out to the global community of Metaverse enthusiasts to find an architect capable of transforming the site into a three-dimensional creation. “Our goal is to establish this area as the heart of the Metaverse,” stated Grossman. He also emphasized that since the launch of TIMEPieces in September 2021, the focus has been on cultivating a Web3 community that builds upon TIME’s unique century-long heritage and approach.


Increasing interest of companies in Metaverse

The collaboration between TIME and The Sandbox represents just one of many partnerships in the evolving Metaverse space.

As interest from various companies in this domain grows, investments in the Metaverse have soared, reaching into the billions of dollars.

Notably, major companies like Meta and Microsoft are actively competing to secure larger stakes and more significant roles within the Metaverse landscape.
