Taco Bell and Decentraland’s Metaverse Contest

Taco Bell, in collaboration with Decentraland, has launched an unprecedented competition. The company has announced an opportunity for engaged couples based in the United States to get married in the Decentraland Metaverse.

In line with this, they have organized a competition specifically for these couples. It has been reported that this competition commenced on August 25th and will continue until September 6th.

According to the announcement, until September 6th, couples have the opportunity to apply for a chance to win the Metaverse wedding package offered by Taco Bell. For this purpose, the brand has created a virtual replica of the Las Vegas Wedding venue and the Cantina in Decentraland.

The Metaverse wedding will be entirely tailored to the lucky couple’s preferences and is scheduled to take place this fall. The wedding will feature music, a first dance, dinner, toasts, vows, and a ring ceremony.

All traditional wedding elements will be incorporated into the Metaverse celebration, with exclusive access granted to the couple’s invited guests. Additionally, the wedding will be open to attendees within Decentraland.

Sean Tresvant, Taco Bell’s Chief Brand Officer, commented on the initiative, stating, “We’re constantly seeking new ways to connect with our fans where they are, offering unique Taco Bell experiences.

This extends to the Metaverse. In this era, Taco Bell’s Metaverse wedding represents the next evolution of modern love. The Metaverse enables couples to engage in their journeys in new ways.”

To enter the Taco Bell Metaverse wedding contest, engaged couples must submit a registration form. They are also required to create a video sharing their love story, explaining why they wish to marry in the Metaverse, and expressing their fondness for Taco Bell. Applications are to be made on Taco Bell’s Metaverse wedding website.

Only one entry per individual is allowed. Participants are encouraged to share their videos on social media using the hashtag #TacoBellMetaverseWeddingContest and tagging @tacobell, then adding their social media video links to the website.

Once selected, the brand has announced its commitment to working closely with the couple to craft their dream wedding, which will encompass everything from designing their attire to selecting an officiant for the ceremony.

Virtual Weddings Are Increasing!

As metaverses gain popularity, virtual weddings are becoming increasingly common. Earlier this year, for instance, a couple from Tamil Nadu in India organized their wedding in the Metaverse.

Their Hogwarts-themed event took place on the Polygon Blockchain, in collaboration with the TardiVerse Metaverse.

Some couples, like this one from India, have incorporated NFT vows and conducted their wedding on the Blockchain with a digital officiant.

In a similar vein, a couple in the United States purchased NFT rings for their traditional ceremony last year. With the growing prevalence of Metaverses, the trend of virtual weddings is anticipated to continue.
