Sony Announces PC Support for PS VR2

Sony has announced the official date for PC support for PlayStation VR2. The PS VR2 PC adapter will be available for purchase on August 7. This allows users to play Steam VR games with the PS VR2 headset.


Some features will not be supported

When the PS VR2 is connected to a PC, users can enjoy immersive features such as 4K visuals, a 110-degree field of view, fingertip touch detection for intuitive interaction, a perspective view mode, and 3D sound effects. However, some functions of the PlayStation VR2 will not be available. Key features that enhance the virtual reality experience, such as HDR visuals, headset feedback, eye-tracking technology, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback, will be missing.


Minimum system requirements explained

Sony states that the adapter will connect to the DisplayPort 1.4 port, but a DisplayPort cable is not included in the box. The adapter features a USB connection and an HDMI output for game recording and sharing. For the best experience on PC, Sony recommends using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600XT graphics card. The minimum system requirements are as follows:
