OpenAI Unveils ChatGPT’s Desktop App: A Powerful Tool for Screen Sharing

OpenAI made several important announcements about its models at its event today. One of them was the introduction of ChatGPT’s desktop application.

At the long-awaited event, OpenAI announced its newest flagship language model, GPT-4o. In addition, the company shared exciting news about ChatGPT that will delight users. The company’s CTO, Mira Murati, confirmed the upcoming release of ChatGPT’s desktop app. It was also stated that some interface improvements will be made to the web version.

ChatGPT’s desktop app will only be available for Mac users for now. OpenAI stated that it will release a ChatGPT application for Windows users later in the year, but did not provide an exact date.

The desktop application will allow users to quickly access ChatGPT by pressing keys directly on the keyboard. Additionally, it will be possible to take screenshots and discuss those images with the chatbot. While the app will be accessible to everyone, its full functionality will only be available to Plus subscribers. It will be widely available in the coming weeks.
