Metaverse Steps from Nike

In the past week, Nike, a globally recognized clothing company, has advertised five job vacancies on LinkedIn.

These positions include roles such as Innovation Engineer, Senior 3D Game Designer and Metaverse Engineer, Blockchain Expert, Innovation Program Manager, and Virtual Materials Designer.

The job description for the Metaverse Engineer role specifies:

“Responsibility for leading the development of rapid end-to-end proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and the creation of Metaverse software and device solutions.”

Nike is pivoting towards alternate reality technologies, showing a keen interest in a range of metaverse technologies, spanning from Web3 to the spatial Web.

Recently, Nike ventured into the NFT realm with its digital shoe collection and acquired RTFKT, a company that focuses on the metaverse and NFTs.
