A new game has been added to the Star Trek universe. Titled Star Trek: Voyager Across the Unknown, the production will once again place players in the captain’s chair of Captain Janeway.
Published by Germany-based Daedalic Entertainment and developed by gameXcite, the game is set in the Star Trek era of the 1990s. As a survival strategy game, it offers players the chance to manage the journey home from the uncharted regions of the Delta Quadrant.
Decisions made on the ship will change the course of the journey
The game will be shaped by exploration, ship and resource management, roguelite elements, and crew dynamics. The released promotional video showcases gameplay reminiscent of the once-popular game FTL.
It is stated that familiar characters will return in the game, but their fates may change. Additionally, players will determine the destiny of the crew and the ship’s journey by making different choices throughout the story. The producers emphasize that in-ship relationships and decisions made during missions will directly impact the game’s progression.
A release date has not yet been shared for Star Trek: Voyager Across the Unknown. The game is currently in development for PC and consoles.
