MyMetaverse Introduces Exclusive NFTs for GTA5 and Minecraft Games

The recent collaboration between MyMetaverse and Enjin has marked a significant increase in the integration of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) into gaming.

According to the announcements made, popular games such as Grand Theft Auto V (GTA5) and the adventure game Minecraft now feature their own in-game NFTs.

MyMetaverse and Enjin Launch NFTs!

Sydney-based MyMetaverse has announced the creation of new digital collections on Efinity, highlighting that these NFTs can be utilized across all MyMetaverse game series, including servers for Grand Theft Auto V (GTA5) and Minecraft. The company is recognized as a leading developer in the Metaverse play-to-earn gaming sector.

Insiders report that post-launch, the NFTs will assume different functions across the three game servers. Additionally, the MetaHome NFT collections are set to offer unique in-game utility on each compatible platform. In GTA5, NFTs will manifest as rare cars, enabling users to earn more game points. For Minecraft, they will be special swords for use in combat.

It’s important to note that MyMetaverse is not the parent company of Minecraft and GTA5. Efinity, a parachain based on Polkadot, is designed to facilitate NFT transactions, and several platforms are leveraging these features to host their products. Enjin, widely used for NFT integration into the Metaverse, also plays a role in the development of Efinity. The integration of NFTs into Efinity is expected to democratize access to NFTs.

Furthermore, MyMetaverse CEO Simon Kertonegoro emphasized that the NFT utility in these three games is an exploration of blockchain-based and cross-chain interoperability. Following the collaboration with Enjin, these NFTs have become the first playable NFTs on the Polkadot network.

Games and NFTs

The rise of NFTs, from the arts to the creative industry, has been quite notable. In the video game industry, NFTs, as a blockchain-based platform, have consistently garnered attention.

However, the concept of NFTs still remains somewhat unfamiliar to traditional gamers. Despite this, creators believe that millions of gamers could gradually adapt to the idea of incorporating NFTs into video games.

Despite some skepticism among gamers, numerous mainstream gaming companies have introduced NFT platforms. These platforms allow players to acquire in-game tools like weapons or vehicles through digital collectibles.

Prominent game developers such as Ubisoft and EA, known for the popular FIFA soccer game series, are among those integrating NFTs into their platforms.

Experts suggest that the extensive use case of cryptocurrencies will lead to an increase in video game manufacturers providing access to NFTs. Additionally, the growing popularity of Blockchain-to-play games like Axie Infinity significantly contributes to the promotion of video games.

However, experts also contend that the sector is currently not fully developed and needs further advancement. They argue that widespread acceptance and suitable conditions could eventually lead every game to venture into this field.
