Microsoft Paint to Convert Images into Animations with AI Support

Microsoft has added a new artificial intelligence feature to the Paint application in Windows 11. Users will now be able to turn their static images into short animations.

Microsoft is equipping the classic Paint application in Windows 11 with new AI-powered features. Through a special testing program called “Windows AI Labs,” the company has added the ability to convert static images into short animations to Paint.

Creating Animations from Drawings

Thanks to the new feature, users can now animate an image they have created or uploaded on Paint with a single click. With the “Animate” button added to the application, the selected image is transformed into a short GIF animation in a few seconds. This process requires no text input; the AI automatically generates appropriate movements and transformations using its own algorithm. The time required to create the animation varies between approximately 40 and 60 seconds. Once the process is complete, the user can save the resulting GIF file to their computer or copy it directly to the clipboard. It is noted that Microsoft is using its own specialized AI model for this feature, and it is not based on the Sora v1 or v2 models.
