Metaverse Powers Green Vocational Training: A Global Initiative

Tallinn, Estonia – A pioneering project, “Green Light to Vocational Education with Metaverse,” spearheaded by Bursa Çimento Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Kestel, Turkey, has successfully completed its initial learning phase in Tallinn, Estonia. This initiative, funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program and supported by the Turkish National Agency, aims to revolutionize vocational training through innovative metaverse technologies.

During their time in Estonia, participating teachers immersed themselves in training focused on integrating VR (Virtual Reality) goggle systems into vocational education. This experience offered valuable insights into cutting-edge educational approaches and provided a firsthand look at the European education system.

The 15-month project, a collaborative effort among educational institutions in Italy, Turkey, and Estonia, seeks to develop course content specifically on “Integrating VR Simulation Systems into Vocational Education.” A core objective is to allow students to explore contemporary vocational fields centered around sustainable energy through immersive VR experiences.

Further activities within the project will see high school students from diverse cultural backgrounds converge in Italy and Turkey for student-focused workshops. These sessions will challenge participants to design and prototype sustainable green energy solutions, such as bicycles that generate power and wind turbine models.

This international collaboration underscores a significant step towards modernizing vocational education, equipping students with essential skills for the future, and fostering cross-cultural exchange in the critical area of sustainable energy.
