Meta Teams Up with Microsoft to Bring Office 365 Apps to Metaverse

Meta has announced a partnership with Microsoft to integrate Office 365 applications into its virtual reality platform.

This collaboration will enable Microsoft Office applications to be accessible within Meta’s virtual reality environment.

Users can access this feature through Meta’s virtual reality headset, Quest Pro, which boasts various new features and is compatible with Windows cloud computing and mobile phones.

Meta’s objective is to encourage more people to engage in virtual work through its developed product, Quest Pro.

This advanced virtual reality headset allows users to map their gestures, including smiles and winks, to their virtual avatars. It is also reported to incorporate features like hand control feedback and real-time emotion tracking.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, in a statement, acknowledged that the pandemic has naturally enhanced remote working experiences, and they remain committed to refining this working model.

In this context, Microsoft has decided to integrate the Microsoft Teams meeting experience into the Meta Quest to enhance users’ interactions.

Furthermore, Microsoft Teams will be compatible with Horizon Workrooms, Meta’s VR meeting space. Meta CEO Zuckerberg believes that this cross-device experience lays the foundation for the future of virtual work environments.
