The fifth day of the World Economic Forum featured discussions centered around Metaverse and Web3, with notable speakers such as High Fidelity Co-Founder Philip Rosedale, Mindfire Foundation Founder Pascal Kaufmann, Magic Leap CEO Peggy Johnson, New York University – Abu Dhabi Assistant Professor Hoda AlKhzaimi, and Lego Group Vice President Edward Lewin participating in the panel titled “Metaverse’s Possibilities.”
The discussions primarily focused on laying the groundwork for the metaverse and exploring future prospects. Panelists delved into technical aspects, security considerations, and the significance of human emotions in constructing a sustainable digital world based on augmented reality.
Peggy Johnson, CEO of augmented reality development company Magic Lap, addressed developments in the metaverse, highlighting ongoing foundational work. She emphasized that although the metaverse is still in its early stages, innovation is undeniably progressing towards a digital future.
Johnson expressed her belief that the metaverse will streamline the execution of complex tasks across various business domains.
Edward Lewin, Lego Group Vice President of Global Affairs, touched upon the importance of shaping the future of children in the metaverse.
He noted that a significant portion of internet users are young adults or children, emphasizing the need to prioritize building the metaverse from the perspective of the younger generation, considering them as the future users.
