Jack Daniel’s Joins Metaverse

Jack Daniel’s has submitted three separate trademark applications specifically for the metaverse.

The brand’s strategy behind this move is to engage in the sale of NFTs, virtual drinks, clothing, digital wallets, and various collectibles within the metaverse.

These applications were filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and have been confirmed by trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.

Increasing Interest in Metaverse

Although the metaverse is still in its early stages, numerous brands are actively filing for trademarks related to the metaverse and NFTs.

Global companies, including Jack Daniel’s, are showing keen interest in participating in the metaverse and NFT sector.

Mars Inc., the renowned chocolate manufacturer, has submitted a trademark application for NFTs associated with its M&M brand.

Major brands like McDonald’s and KFC are also initiating efforts to offer virtual drinks and food in the metaverse.

There has been a significant increase in trademark applications for the metaverse in the USA. In 2021, there were 3516 such applications, and this number has already exceeded 3600 in the period from January 1 to August 31, 2022.
