HTC is back with ‘metaverse’ vision

Taiwanese technology company HTC, which has experienced a decline in its smartphone market share in recent years, has unveiled its future vision for the ‘metaverse’ platform named ‘Viverse.’ The platform is expected to offer numerous opportunities for user interaction, creating a future where the seemingly impossible becomes possible. HTC highlighted that Viverse will encompass both virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) equipment.

To showcase the capabilities of Viverse, HTC released a YouTube video titled “Viverse — A Day in the Metaverse with VR, AR, AI, 5G & NFTs.” The video demonstrates various possibilities within Viverse, including fitness activities with virtual reality equipment and virtual drink-tasting events.

Moreover, HTC mentioned that the platform will feature art galleries where users can purchase digital artworks as NFTs (non-fungible tokens).

AFTER FACEBOOK, MANY COMPANIES PARTICIPATED IN THE ‘METAVERSE’ FAIR

Recently, Facebook, the social media giant, changed its corporate name to ‘Meta’ to align with CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s vision of transforming the company into a ‘metaverse’ entity. This shift reflects the company’s focus on creating realistic virtual worlds.

The rebranding was announced during Meta’s annual ‘Connect Conference.’ As part of this change, while the social network’s name remained Facebook, other products like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus were unified under the umbrella of ‘Meta.’

The renaming of Facebook to Meta triggered a wave of interest in the metaverse among various technology companies and brands. HTC has now joined this trend, unveiling its metaverse platform named ‘Viverse’ to explore new possibilities in the virtual realm.
