OpenAI’s new AI model, GPT-5, has now been integrated into Microsoft’s Copilot services, allowing users to access it for free.
Just a few days ago, GPT-5 was added to ChatGPT, becoming available not only to paid subscribers but also to free account holders. All you need is to log in with your ChatGPT account. While the model is free to use, certain limitations still apply.
Today, Microsoft announced the integration of GPT-5 into its Copilot services, making it unlimited and free to use. Starting now, you can access GPT-5 through the following Microsoft platforms:
- Copilot web version (no account login required)
- Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android Copilot apps
- Microsoft 365 Copilot (advanced reasoning for email, documents, and file analysis)
- GitHub Copilot and Visual Studio Code
- Azure AI Foundry (for developers)
In Microsoft Copilot, the “Smart (GPT-5)” option can provide quick answers or deeper, more complex reasoning depending on the task. Additionally, developers can create their own tools using GPT-5, GPT-5 mini, and GPT-5 nano versions via Microsoft Copilot Studio or Azure AI Foundry.
